This home was already stunning, but when the homeowners said they wanted to go big and take their landscape to the next level, we eagerly jumped on board to create this luxurious custom and colorful retreat! We added turf to the right side of the driveway, which dramatically increased and visually extended the property. Next, we removed a small block wall which opened up the courtyard immensely while also allowing access to the new side yard garden. In addition, this provided an opportunity to add a huge indoor/outdoor open air bar off of the homeowners game room! By adding a garage door that opens from the bar top up on one side, a new folding glass patio door facing the courtyard on the other, plus french doors on the nearby facing casita it created a truly unique and open plan, a tropical resort lifestyle home! Just inside the garden, there’s a custom fountain with spillover water bowls and “floating” fire. The fountain is finished with a cement bench surround providing
relaxation and entertainment to guests. Bringing in lots of color with accents, area rugs, a colorful granite counter, matching builtin fireplace benches, and lots of tropical plants like golden bamboo, hibiscus, gardenia, and cannas. We were also able to include some easy and cold hardy edible trees with additional layers of underplanting for a lush tropical feel and an over the top focal point to this already incredible backyard oasis… A curved pergola elevated on the existing pool deck with an optional rain curtain, adding greenery to an impervious surface and a welcoming destination to sit poolside.
